Presidents day
On a rather cold blowy day two teams were formed, President XI and Chairmans XI, with the
presidents batting first, with G Norman and Cook opening, and chucker Crump opening the bowling, 2 balls in 1st
wicket, G Norman was out for a duck, next came Murray Jnr who confidently held out until the next over, when
with Roswell Bull or alien head as he is known to his closest friends, gave cook two 4s before cook could not
resist hitting out and was caught by Zaheer, out for 8. Enter John Fowler who steadied the ship, finally going
for lbw off Penfold Casey for 9, some good bowling to note was zaheer 0-6 3 overs and Jim Casey 1-3 in 3,
senior entered the field, and was promptly dismissed LBW from Hills for 1 run, and was later fined for his
complaciency, Callum Newns, the new star of the show at 14yrs old, tonked Hills a couple of times finally
going for 4 runs and was caught by riverdance specialist Pete welch who was also fined for bragging, BGP
was then caught by chucker bowled M Rich for 10, Pete OD was bowled by riverdance welch for 2, ( has
he ever had a good game senior was heard to ask ? ) Tony Bullimore put on a bit of a lazy show,
electing to hit 4s rather than run, and was caught and bowled by the chairman for 23, Murray jnr had left the
field by now having clocked up 25 runs, Eddie newns was bowled by Roswell for 7, Murray jnr returned and
notched up another 26 not out, whilst murray snr was caught by new boy Mark Welch for 3 runs from Dales
bowling, this set a score of 149 req
Hills opened after the burger break , facing Murray snr whos bowling was 1-16 3 overs, Hills
and Zaheer lasted just 2 overs when Bullimore struck and Zaheer was caught by Pete OD, chucker Junior came out,
faced 2 balls, fell asleep dreaming, and was stumped after just 2 balls, Bullimore was now 2-1, Casey went
in to bat, put on 18 runs before going lbw of Pete OD., Pete "riverdance" Welch faced around 50 balls
before hitting out and going for for 2 runs , being caught by the boy Newns with a wonderful sliding catch
, Roswell to bat next, he looked as if he had picked up his light sabre rather than the bat, Bullimore had
returned at this point to the bowling and promptly took his wicket with Jason going for 24. Bullimore was now
3-2 from 3 overs, Dale entered the frame, and concerned he might hit one of the houses, eventually got out to a
fine catch by Murray jnr right on the boundary from Murray snr, Mike Bristow put on a respectful 17 and Lee
Mark 10 before the overs ran out with the second innings scoring 139. some notable bowling was Pete OD, who
despite 4 runs being byes, allowed 20 runs to be scored in 1 over, John Fowler was 1-6 Murray jnr 0 -12, we all
retired to the warm bar for the fines committee and further beer.
11July
The 1st XI were put in to bat , and on a strange old day weather wise, were all out quite
cheaply for 123, with some good bowling from the Stewkley no1 bowler, nothing really to report apart from Crump
jnr & Ash have a good knock at the end running down the overs, the Stewkley team, with 46 overs, came
out to bat, and soon notched up 50 with wides scoring quite a few, the Stewkley no 4 was given out, LBW and
despite the tirade of abuse directed at the umpire ( the only umpire ) finally left the field, stewkley reached
the total in about 33 overs. one "interesting" moment was when wicket keeper Pleasance who had been talking all
through the innings, unfortunately took a pinging ball from Skeaths bowling in the face removing his front
tooth and causing some damage to his face, he is now out of hospital and reading the small print in the
insurance policy,

28th June
Sunday XI
sorry for the delay, Sundays report, we were away at Offley & Stopsley with Page still unable to play
and with no motorbility scooter available Gary Norman took over for his second game in charge. Caddington
batted first with Crump jnr and Norman opening and then quickly closing, with Gary leaving the field
after 4 runs ( yep, it was a 4 ) in the 3rd over, with Crump following in the 5th for 3 runs,
reason given was " it was an unplayable ball" he later received a fine.Cook was busy knocking up the runs
when Worthington went for a duck, then L Mark took to the field after he had secured the food and he
and Cook put in a 66 partnership before being bowled by Patel with 31 runs, . BGP took to the field,
hit some nice shots ( shot ) and 2 overs later a dubious lbw " it hit my back foot " was given and cook was
out, in the spirit of the game the umpire was thanked ( cheers Jim ! ) by this time, Lee Mark had
been to the bar and got the beers in, but unfortunately Mike did not have time for even a sip as he
entered the field, worried that leaving a beer anywhere near mr Mark could result in total loss of a pint,
he was immediately out for a golden after offering up a practice catch. Matt newns ran up 14 runs
before being caught, and then it was time for the O D brothers who were both swiftly out leaving Pete Welch
to carry his bat in the 24 over with Caddington having posted 100 runs.
After tea, the bowling looked to be on track with Offley 4 for 4 in the 5th over with Crump and Pete
OD bowling, but the Sunday mix up the bowling came in, and with such a low score to chase Offley made
a meal of it, and with 24% of their score coming from extras they won the game with a ball to go. Good
points Pete OD or Skippy as he was being called 5 for 12 in 8 overs and Crump with 2 for 14 Brendan 1 for
14, Lee had eaten too much at tea and was struggling behind the wicket, with Pete Welch performing
river dance every time the ball came near him , and BGP asleep on the boundary, James Cook holding the
game up whilst " i am avin a fag " the fielding was back to normal at last !
1st XI
rain stopped play
2nd XI
won,
no report for either, sorry.
22nd June
The sunday game finally got under way after several players either got confused or did not
turn up, We had tried to get a local team in to play after Occasional wanderers, struggling to raise a team,
pulled out, but the replacement cancelled at 9pm on Friday, We ended up encouraging some of the Social club to
come and have a game, new Faces included the Jones family, Clarke senior and Junior, Luke Allsop a certain
Mr Glenister snr and the football clubs player of the year Mark Sutton. teams were randomly picked and the game
commenced with Drew electing to field, the 1st team in manged to knock up 120 in 26 overs, with several dogs
lifes for any of the new comers out 1st ball, notable batting was Tyler Clark who hit a 4 and Dave Jones who
hit the ball at least twice, most of the runs were scored by Gary Blaney and Matthew Chapman who was
moonlighting from Offley and Stopsley.
after tea that was prepared by Miss Bull and Alison, the field was set , and skippered by
Gary Blaney, who mixed up the bowling and with the 1st wicket going to Tyler Clark who bowled the only
wicket maiden and the catch was expertly juggled before being controlled by Dave Jones, Matthew Chapman went on
to take a few catches, there was some fine bowling from Mark Sutton, Des Clark, with Craig behind the stumps
and Lee Mark asleep on the sight screens, before Lee Glenister came on to face Craig Hills who had
recovered from his evening/morning session, with Lee retiring injured for several runs, James Cook and Jason
Bull were next up, with Cook going on to carry his bat to victory.
20th June
The 1st XI were battered away from home, and from the skippers reaction afterwards some
lessons were learned from tha game at Studham
the 2nd XI posted 238 batting first, skippered by Robby, but Cublington held on to give
Caddington a winning draw
12th June The T20 match resumed last night with Caddington beating 2nd XI skipper Allan
Crumps team
8th June
The second team had a great victory away from home, I am waiting for a report to be
sent to me, but the scores were

31st May
On a hot, sultry windy day with a dry dusty wicket, the Sunday team Skippered this week by Gary Norman
started well by losing the toss, and therefore the game plan was out of the window before PLAY, Open
University elected to bat, the OU put on a decent display of batting and included the old old favorite game
on a hot day of go find the ball in the field, both of them !, some decent fielding from the home side, but
some shocking wicket keeping, including a charitable moment from five pies Lee Mark when he chose not to
take the bails off, despite the runner being a stride out of his area, some good bowling again from JNR
Crump who was cheered on by his family and friends who came to see him bat, ( 1 -20 8 overs 2 maidens )
followed by Zaheer who returned to the team after a week away in a "rest home" ,who managed to catch
and bowl the no 5, Bradley Blaney took 1-14 of 8 overs, and brother Kyle 1-25 with a bit of trickery, with
the OU ending up on a 163 for 7. After a fine tea proved by Alison & Miss Bull , Caddingtons turn,
Skipper Gary and Bully opened steadily chipping away with the 1st wicket (Gary ) going for 45 , then on
came Dwarf Bob who managed to take the pace off (kill ) the game to allow Bullies hangover to
finally leave him, Mike was finally taken when he decided to hit out, OU had tried hard to keep him
in, and even tried to drop the ball, Jason was given a dubious LBW by the dodgy umpire , but having
hit 37 was happy to give up his wicket for the bar on came Zaheer, who finally went for 34
despite "gifting" at least 3 catches and being dropped approx 5 times, Phil made a brief appearance, before
5 pies came out hit 2 balls and was caught, obviously still some sandwiches left at the bar, thankfully ,
after a long absence, Shaun Mark graced the field once more, calming things down, and going on to score 24
not out, assisted by Brendan (4) and Bradley who hit the winning 4 in style to wrap up another win for the
Sunday team in 34.1 overs.
report by M Page
the 1st Team won at home, no match report received
The seconds, playing away at Cublington, put in a massive performance with a struggling makeshift team,
Cublington batted 1st, notching up 130 for 9, Caddington reached 131 for 6, there were some outstanding
individual performances that skipper, Allan Crump SNR noted, Batting, James Cook again hit 52 and was not
out, whilst the bowling was superb, Robbie 10 overs, 2 maiden and was 5 for 16, Jim Casey 10 overs 2 for
16,Allan Crump snr had a short spell, 5 overs 2 maidens, and ended up 0 for 6.
The Skipper would like to thank Ben Foggerty, Luke Ashton & Dan Adams, who incidentally also took a
catch, for coming along and helping out, giving the 2nd XI back to back wins.
23rd May
the 1st XI travelled to Olney assisted for the first time this season by Jenny Banfield ,
and batting 1st were all out for 116, the writing should of been on the wall, until Hameed picked up
the ball and took 5 for 8 to win the game with 3 runs to spare with Olney notching up 116
the 2nd XI played a Totternhoe CC side, soon to be former player Steve Lowdes team if they do
not find out about "that incident" we do not speak about, with Totternhoe starting well with 156 runs
for 2, After tea which Lee Mark was reported to of enjoyed, cometh the hour cometh the man, with James
Cook putting in his first 50 in a senior side hitting a 74 and was caught going for the 6 to win the
match, he was assisted by Saj who scored 65 not out with Caddington CC winning the match 156 for
2.
17th May
On a cold blowy rainy day, Caddington Sunday team skippered for the 1st time by Allan Crump jnr
took on Ivanhoe, Cadington elected to put Ivanhoe into bat, and despite the inclement weather
managed to knock up 153 runs with Dancer hiting 56
next up Caddington, who following a dispute over whatever were down to 9 batsmen, with Cook and
Glenister opening, the 1st wicket was cook in the 7th over who went for 12, followed by Glenister
in the 9th for 2 runs, on came the skipper for the day who knocked up 34 and Lee (chubby
pages boy ) Mark who hit a magnificent 59 , Mike Bristow came on briefly
(2) and the only Fine for batting went to Matt Newns who was wishing he had missed his flight
home from his holiday the day before, Bradley Blaney who had taken 4 for 28 at bowling,
managed the 3rd 6 of the day gong for 12 , with Carl Beddard offering some
catching practice (8) , Ivanhoe out of top bowlers and 15 runs needed to win the game off
3.4 overs which was certainly do able, it was all over, bar the drinking as Caddingtons 10 & 11
had gone home.
At least extras this week was not the top scorer !
11th May
With the 1st XI winning on Saturday, the Sunday team went to Milton Bryant , who last
year put 309 on the board, Caddington batted 1st, and were all out for 88 in 26 overs, with an
early bath looming, Crump jnr and Zaheer opened the bowling, wickets fell almost
every over and after 10 overs MB were 6 for 17, then Brendan and Kyle came on, 5
overs later it was all over, with MB all out for 25 in 15 overs, there was some superb
fielding, with big Phil taking the 1st catch and some great wicket keeping by Bradley who had a
stumping through quick reactions, but catch of the day obviously went to the skipper, who leapt
out of his wheel chair, ran 50 yrds and took a diving catch in mid air, what a game,
next week sees Ivanhoe at Caddington with Allan Crump JNR taking up the chalice as skipper and
will attempt to make it 3 wins from 3.please see the play cricket web site for the details of
the match ( will be on there later )
3rd May

club quiz night at the club, it was a good night, and bar one round of questions the team averaged around 80% on
the question rounds, they stumbled on the crazy round where you are supposed to guess what the quiz master was
thinking, but as he is also the Football club manager, it was agreed this was near impossible !!
Well done to Mick Gregory for a good evening.
